Kenya Prisons, KCB, DCI join Pipeline in Kenya Cup Volleyball semifinals

The inaugural Kenya Cup Volleyball Tournament roared to life at the Nyayo National Stadium Basketball Court as women's quarterfinal action lit up the courts with fierce rivalries and commanding performances.
By the end of the day, Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Prisons, KCB, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had booked their places in the semifinals, set for July 12 and July 13.
Kenya Prisons fired the opening salvo dominantly, sweeping aside the Kenya Army in straight sets (25-12, 25-15, 25-15). Prisons displayed a disciplined and clinical performance, with powerful serving and solid net defence that left the Army struggling to find a rhythm throughout the match.
In the second fixture of the day, KCB followed suit with an impressive 3-0 win over Postbank. KCB controlled the match with scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-23, shrugging off a late resistance in the third set to seal their place in the semifinals. The bankers’ consistency and tactical execution under pressure proved key to their victory.
The day's final match saw the DCI rally from a set down to beat the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 3-1. After dropping the first set 22-25, DCI bounced back to take the next three sets 25-23, 25-10, and 25-15. The match was a thrilling display of grit and adaptability, as DCI’s attackers found their rhythm and overwhelmed KDF’s defence in the final two sets.
Kenya Pipeline, the recently crowned national women’s league champions, had already secured a direct slot in the semifinals after receiving a bye.
With the semifinal lineup now confirmed, Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Prisons, KCB, and DCI, the focus shifts to the men’s quarterfinals, which kick off on Sunday, July 6, at the same venue, starting from 9:00 am.
